I am Zakaria Ouelman, musician, composer and actor, born in Casablanca, Morocco. I grew up in a artistic family. My grandmother initiated me into the secrets of Gnawa music and culture from an early age.
Master Abdelah Lalaoumi taught me to chant and to play the traditional Gnawa instruments (guembri, qrqueb, tbal, darbouka). 

As member of "Bells Band" I played keyboard and percussion in all genres.

In my career I participated in several Gnawa and Reggae fusion projects, and performed on festivals, competitions and concerts as percussionist, vocalist, keyboarder and guembri-player.

The deep connection to my Gnawa - roots is a never ending inspirational source for my compositions, songs and lyrics. I play Gnawa music in its traditional form as well as in fusion with genres like Reggae, Funk, Rai and more.
